Hi! My name is Darnell Lucky and I’m originally from North Las Vegas, Nevada. I graduated from Mojave High School with a College Ready Diploma, and I’m currently attending the University of Nevada, Reno, majoring in Public Health. I chose this major because I’m passionate about helping others, understanding how health impacts communities, and preparing for a future career in medicine. One of my long-term goals is to become a pediatrician, because I enjoy working with kids and want to make a positive impact on children’s health and well-being.
Most of my work experience comes from fast-paced customer service and food service environments, including Sonic, Walmart, McDonald’s, and Chuck E. Cheese. These roles helped me build strong skills in communication, teamwork, leadership, multitasking, and problem solving skills that translate well into healthcare. They’ve also taught me patience, compassion, and how to work effectively under pressure, which are important qualities for anyone working in medicine.
When I’m not working or studying, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, learning new things, and challenging myself to grow personally and academically. I’m passionate about helping others, staying focused on my goals, and building a future where I can give back to my community. As I continue my journey in public health and eventually toward medical school, I’m excited to gain new experiences and move closer to becoming a pediatrician.
